TIMELESS
This piece holds two versions of me: myself now, and the older woman I hope to become. To imagine her, I studied the faces of my mother and my grandmother, tracing the lines I come from. In the painting, we embrace, one continuous gesture of love across generations. There is celebration here, and healing. I wanted to feel, and to show, that we are never only ourselves. We carry the women who came before us, and we become them.
